Depression statistics

Depression is a mental disorder that has affected many nations as well as common in United States and also worldwide. When we see the Depression Statistics that have been recorded so far it is unbelievable. It is found that 44.3 million people suffer from a mental disorder that can be diagnosed and are widely common in age group above 18 years of age. It is also found from the Depression Statistics that the leading cause for the disability in U.S is the Major Depression. This has affected about 9.9 million adults above 18 years of age. Though Major Depression has no age bar, they are found to be most prevalent in the mid-twenties.
There are also other depression disorders that play a major part in the depression statistics. It is recorded that over 18.8 American adults above 18 years are affected by depression. Also women are affected twice that of men as they have a stressful part in life. Of these with symptoms clinical depression are the majority. There are several depression tests available to identify the existence of depression. They have recorded about 12.4 million women and 6.4 million men who have depression in U.S. The Depression Statistics also have recorded that those depressed are easily liable to get heart attack, cancer, Strokes and many other major illness.
